An apprentice working at local firm Tiger Flooring met with Stevenage MP Stephen McPartland as part of the national apprenticeship scheme. It was very useful discussion with ideas and experiences exchanged. Stephen is very passionate about young people being given a chance in the workplace and gaining qualifications, new skills and experience. He spent time with the whole team as well as discussing with Connor, our young apprentice, about his experience.

Stephen McPartland MP said, “It was a pleasure to meet Connor and experience his enthusiasm and desire to succeed. The team at Tiger flooring took a risk on giving a young person a chance and he is delivering for them. I would like to thank Tiger Flooring for their commitment and wish them every success."

Jannette Shephard, director of Tiger Flooring, said, "We took quite a risk taking on an apprentice as we are only a very small business. We are, however, pleased to say it was an excellent decision and our apprentice Connor has been outstanding. We couldn't have wished for a better result!"

Connor is at the end of his two year apprenticeship. It has been a very positive move for Tiger Flooring and an encouragement to any business to consider giving these young people a great start!
