Staff and pupils at the John Henry Newman School took time out to give Stevenage MP Stephen McPartland a tour of their Design Technology department.

Stephen McPartland MP said, "I really enjoyed my visit and was struck by the high quality of the pupils' work. It is clear that many of them will have very bright futures in industry. High quality Design Technology qualifications our integral to an outstanding curriculum that gives pupils the opportunity to develop skills in demand by employers."

As part of the visit Stephen chatted with students about their practical work and how innovation and design is used to create innovative and quality made products. With most industries using computers for design and manufacture it is important Design Technology is a modern 21st century subject that provides students with the necessary skills needed to succeed as employees.
