Stephen McPartland, Member of Parliament for Stevenage, is supporting Hart Learning & Development's campaign to increase the number of businesses offering apprenticeships in Stevenage, as part of National Apprenticeship Week.
Stephen McPartland MP said, “Apprenticeships are equally powerful for business, young people and their families. They are proven to help businesses attract, train and retain the talented young people who then power that business into the future. They are also a powerful way for young people to build careers in their chosen occupation, realise their full potential and transform their life chances.
"I always encourage businesses of all sizes to support apprenticeships and Stevenage businesses have responded with more than 4,000 new apprentices since 2010. I am delighted to back Hart L&D's new campaign to push us to the next level.”
Hart Learning & Development is the business-facing arm of North Hertfordshire College and its Managing Director, Lucy Hann, added, "We’re really looking forward to working with businesses across Stevenage and North Hertfordshire to create the apprenticeship opportunities that will help local young people realise their potential.
"Keep an eye out for apprenticeships window stickers and certificates popping up around the area as businesses commit to the campaign; and on our website to see what progress we’re making and which businesses are supporting the campaign.”
Commitments and case studies will be showcased on the campaign website www.hartld.co.uk/loveapprenticeships and the campaign will culminate in a celebration and prize giving event at North Hertfordshire College in June.
