2014 has been another amazing year and working with local people is so rewarding. I am proud to be your Member of Parliament and work hard to help families with the issues that affect them personally. When we get a result it always makes such a dramatic and instant difference to the family. The economic recovery is also making a huge difference to local families, as unemployment continues to fall and youth unemployment is at its lowest for many years. Our schools and college continue to improve thanks to the hard work and dedication of pupils, teachers and parents. This is being recognised and more companies are choosing to invest in Stevenage than ever before. Our local NHS also continues to go from strength to strength with fantastic staff that help save lives on a daily basis.

I have had so many great moments this year that is hard to choose a single one as the best, but the opening of our new Lister Macmillan Cancer Centre and sealing the deal on the widening of the A1(M) on our stretch of motorway are certainly up there. I already have plans in place for some exciting developments that will build on the £300 million of government infrastructure investment I have secured for our local schools, hospital, housing and jobs.

There is so much we have done, but there is so much more to do and my campaigns for 3 hours free parking to help regenerate Stevenage town centre and a new Stevenage Development Company, mean 2015 will also be an exciting year. We have achieved a lot this year and I am very much looking forward to delivering more successes next year.
