Stevenage Credit Union invited Stephen McPartland, Member of Parliament for Stevenage, to launch their new debit card current account. Stevenage Credit Union believe this new facility will offer their members a more flexible way of accessing their money.
Stephen said, "It was a privilege to be asked to help launch the new debit card current account for Stevenage Credit Union, as they are a fantastic local organisation which really helps the local community. I was so proud of the huge range of local people who attended to help with the launch and show their support for Stevenage Credit Union. I was delighted to sign up as a member on the day and begin saving as we try to increase the number of members to 2,000 here in Stevenage."
Credit Unions provide a safe place for people to save and are regulated by the Prudential Regulation Authority. Members save as much or as little as they want, for Christmas, holidays, or to help budget for expensive times of the year. There are Credit Unions all over the world, and are one of Britain’s best kept secrets.
