I am proud to have been the Member of Parliament for Stevenage for the past 7 years, and have a strong record of action and delivery for local people. Here are 3 positive reasons to vote for me:
1. Investing in our Local NHS
The Lister Hospital has benefited from a £150 million redevelopment and the QEII Hospital has been rebuilt, making them amongst the most modern and advanced facilities in the UK. I am also continuing my campaign for a Satellite Radiotherapy Unit to be based in Stevenage.
2. Investing in our Community and Economy
I am leading the campaign for a new Garden City to resolve housing need once and for all. A new organisation is being established to regenerate Stevenage town centre, with millions of pounds of Government money and an Independent Chairman. I will continue my campaign for 3 hours free parking to kickstart a town centre regeneration with revitalised shops at the heart of it.
3. Investing in our local Roads and Rail Services
I secured the funding to widen the A1(M) between Junctions 6 and 8, at a cost of £8 million a mile. I am delighted Highways England have already started work on the detailed plans. Rail users are also seeing the benefits of thousands more seats and new trains are on the way, but there is more to do on services.
We have a choice at this election - between strong and stable leadership under Theresa May or a coalition of chaos with Jeremy Corbyn. Why not let me know what you think in 60 seconds here.
