Another £30 million of funding to boost our bus services and drive down fares. On top of the 27 new zero emission buses to make our buses in Stevenage clean and green. Bus networks form the spine of local transport networks, but for decades we have been let down by poor bus infrastructure. I have been working hard to fix this and we have seen lots of improvements in Stevenage over the years, from some new buses to contactless payments. I am delighted to have been working closely with Herts County Council and Arriva to secure funding for 27 zero-emission buses, so we will have a fleet of new greener buses in Stevenage. This is all part of our plan to deliver cheaper, cleaner and more reliable service for passengers. Now, I can report that Hertfordshire is receiving an additional £29.7 million of new funding to further boost our bus services – transforming our local transport network. This will mean that passengers will get a better deal, this investment will help drive down fares at a time when people’s finances are tight.
