Young members of the Coptic Orthodox Church in Stevenage have been working with the Douglas Drive Senior Citizens Day Centre and making a positive difference by applying leadership and teamwork skills they have been learning on a Leadership Empowerment Action Programme (LEAP).
The town centre stall was to help raise awareness of the day centre, and Stevenage MP Stephen McPartland visited to hear about the community work the young people had been involved with as part of LEAP.
Stephen McPartland, Member of Parliament for Stevenage said "I would like to congratulate the younger members of the Coptic Church in Stevenage for their community work and teaming up with a number of local organisations to help them connect with the younger generation.
"I was delighted to see them working with Douglas Drive staff promoting the great work the Douglas Drive Senior Citizens Association does in our town. I very much enjoyed getting involved and seeing the enthusiasm for the partnership to help raise awareness and funds for Douglas Drive."
