Working hard for you

I was delighted to welcome the Queen to Stevenage as part of her Jubilee tour and to have the opportunity to meet her.  I was very proud that the new maternity unit at the Lister hospital was opened by the Queen as it is one of many projects the government is funding to transform our hospital into one of the most advanced and modern facilities in the UK.

It was a great day, with brilliant sunshine, and thousands of local people and hospital staff were there to see the Queen and celebrate the achievements in our town.
