Local theatre group, Stevenage Lytton Players, are putting on a free production in support of the campaign for a satellite radiotherapy unit to be based at at the Lister hospital.
Stephen McPartland, Member of Parliament for Stevenage, is leading the campaign for a satellite Radiotherapy Unit. He said, "The campaign is going from strength to strength but we were keen to do something a little different to capture the attention of more local people. We are very lucky that Stevenage Lytton Players have such a great community spirit and offered to help us by putting on this production, which is completely free for local people."
Sharon Curtis, a member of Stevenage Lytton Players, had the idea and said "I did not realise how difficult or how far it was to go to Mount Vernon everyday for radiotherapy treatment until my mum was ill. I agree with Stephen that we have to bring cancer care closer to people's homes."
The concert will be held at the Stevenage Lytton Players Theatre. All tickets are free with 50 available for each show. Local people can email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. for tickets on a first-come first-served basis.
Stephen McPartland added "I have watched Stevenage Lytton Players perform many times and I am so proud we have such talented local people involved in helping our community."
Stevenage Lytton Players will be performing at The Lytton Theatre on Vardon Road, with three performances: 22nd June 7:45pm, 23rd June 2pm matinee and 7:45pm.
