Protestors are demonstrating against Rothamsted Research, who are carrying out the trials, and Hitchin and Harpenden MP Peter Lilley is taking action with local Police to ensure security measures are in place to deal with any disorder. Mr Lilley added, "I think genuine environmentalists, once they have spoken with Rothamsted, will agree that the work is vital for humanity."
