Over £200 was raised in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care at a Blooming Great Tea Party in St Nicholas. Local volunteers and their friends enjoyed a wide variety of cakes, and invited along Stephen McPartland, Member of Parliament for Stevenage, to support the event.

Stephen said, "I have been a supporter of the work of Marie Curie Cancer Care for many years and it was a great pleasure to go along to another of the tea parties organised and supported by local people.

"The spread of cakes was impressive and I would like to thank the volunteers for making them and the event happen.  I am proud of the community spirit in Stevenage which comes through in so many ways and the cakes were lovely."
