Rt Hon Stephen McPartland MP
Working hard for you
in Stevenage, Knebworth, Codicote, Datchworth and Aston

Pupils from Franklin House at Thomas Alleyne school in Stevenage organised a fun-day to raise money to fund the education of three “friends” at a school in West Africa, as part of the Send My Friend to School campaign for primary education for every child in the world. They also presented local Member of Parliament, Stephen McPartland, with a petition during his recent visit to the school.

Stephen said, "A good education is the only real route out of poverty for most people around the world, including at home here in the UK. I raised the importance of access to Education in my very first speech in Parliament and am proud of the pupils at Thomas Alleyne for making a real difference to the life chances of other children. I will give the petition to the Secretary of State for International Development and let the pupils have a copy of his response."
