Garden House Hospice Care is delighted to have added a new shop in Broadwater Crescent, Stevenage, which was officially opened by Stephen McPartland MP, and the Mayor of Stevenage, Councillor Margaret Notley.

Stephen McPartland MP said, “Garden House Hospice Care provides vital end of life care to residents of Stevenage. It offers great support and care to patients, their families and carers and I am delighted to be opening this new shop to help raise funds for the Hospice.”

The Mayor of Stevenage, Councillor Margaret Notley, commented, “I welcome this new shop to Broadwater. Charities such as Garden House Hospice Care, are important to the running of society. The new shop will bring important income for Stevenage’s local Hospice so that it can continue to deliver and extend its service provision for patients living with life limiting illness and their families and carers.”

Garden House Hospice Care needs to raise over £3 million every year to be able to provide its free specialist palliative care for over 500 adults a year from the local community living with advanced cancer, motor neurone disease or other life limiting illness.

Stephen McPartland, Member of Parliament for Stevenage, was this year again pleased to go along to as many Macmillan Coffee Mornings as he could manage, in support of local groups hosting them.

Stephen McPartland MP said, "I am always amazed at how many local groups host Macmillan Coffee Mornings and I wish I could get along to them all. I attended another great selection this year and am delighted at the community spirit, optimism and passion to make a difference in our community. Lots of people, doing lots of little things that make a huge difference collectively."

Stephen McPartland, Member of Parliament for Stevenage, is encouraging local school breakfast clubs to enter his year's Kellogg's Breakfast Club Awards for the chance to win £1,000 towards the running of their club.

Stephen McPartland MP said, “This is the 20th anniversary year of the Kellogg’s Breakfast Awards which recognise the contribution made by schools, charities and individuals to help ensure children start the day focused and ready to learn.

"I encourage all the local schools with breakfast clubs to apply so they have the chance to win £1,000 to help run their club and keep up their brilliant work”.
