Stevenage MP, Stephen McPartland, welcomed the new that the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust have won a bid for additional investment in their ambulance sites, including the Stevenage station, to put in facilities to clean and equip vehicles to get them back on the road more quickly.
Stephen McPartland, Member of Parliament for Stevenage, said, "Our ambulance service does a fantastic job, providing immediate care to local people. The crews and staff are dedicated hardworking local people and this further investment in the Stevenage ambulance station reflects our support for them.
"I can see that having better facilities will directly support better patient care, not only by getting to patients in need more quickly by speeding up things behind the scenes, but also supporting our dedicated crews to help them, help local people when we need it most.”
This significant investment will improve facilities and enable crews to save time, and so increase their availability to respond to patients in the community. Stevenage was one of ten sites that is in need of this service. EEAST applied for funding as part of a nationwide funding boost for the NHS’s 70th birthday from the Department of Health and Social Care.
