Stevenage MP, Stephen McPartland, visited Camps Hill Primary School on the first day of a 22-week project to replace the school's heating system. The project is costing £650,000 and the funding is being provided through the Government's Condition Improvement Fund for schools.
Stephen McPartland MP said, “It is really good to see how excited the children are with their learning and the staff are so invested in them, that you can feel a buzz throughout the whole school. I know the new boiler and heating system will also help keep everyone feeling warmer when the winter months arrive. Camps Hill is an amazing school that continues to go from strength to strength.”
Headteacher Emma Flawn said: “Ensuring our buildings and heating are fit for purpose is paramount to delivering high quality teaching and learning. We so were disappointed to have to close last winter due to the boiler failure and are looking forward to learning in our lovely warm school in future years to come.”
