Stephen McPartland MP has been backing Barnwell School students and listened to their ideas on how to improve the efficient use of water. Team "Without a Drought" is a group of 14 Key Stage 3 students taking part in the Affinity Water Challenge.
Stephen McPartland, Member of Parliament for Stevenage, said “I was delighted to listen to the practice presentation of the students and back them in the competition. They had put a huge amount of effort into the project with their teacher Linda Butterfield and it really showed. I know they are over the moon about winning the trophy and £500 for the school and I am really proud of them.”
Team "Without a Drought" designed a new water saving product for the shower and conducted a behaviour campaign in their school. They presented their idea to industry experts as part of the water efficiency challenge supported by Affinity Water and WaterAid.
The programme is CREST accredited at silver level. CREST is a national Science award run by the British Science Association.
