As part of the UK Parliament Teacher Ambassador Programme, Parliament's Education Service will again be hosting a residential Teachers’ Institute next January.
Stephen McPartland, Member of Parliament for Stevenage, said, "The UK Parliament Teacher Ambassador Programme gives teachers the opportunity to experience Parliament first hand and return to their schools to help support understanding of and increase engagement with Parliament. I know from exerience of working with my local schools, the huge appetite for information and understanding of how Parliament works on a day to day basis. There is so much more to Parliament, than what is seen in the media. "
The course has been strongly recommended by previous delegates and includes: Tour of the Palace of Westminster, Q&A sessions with MPs and Peers, Talks from subject specialists, Workshops devoted to key aspects of the work of Parliament, Opportunities to explore new and exciting teaching ideas. Transport and accommodation costs are covered and applications are welcome from teachers, school leaders and teacher training providers working with young people aged 5-18.
The programme will run from 22 to 24 January 2018 and the closing date for applications is Sunday 19 November 2017. Applications forms are available online at
