Stephen McPartland, Member of Parliament for Stevenage, met the Football Association in Parliament to celebrate the success of FA Skills, the FA’s flagship coaching programme for 5 to 11 year old girls and boys.
Stephen said, "FA Skills enables children to get active, learn new skills and enjoy football, both in and out of school, and is delivered by 158 full-time coaches across England. The programme has been running fir seven years and six million children have been through it, which is amazing."
FA Skills is free to Primary Schools with funding from The FA, the National Lottery and the government through Sport England. In 2013 FA Skills became the only programme delivered by a governing sports body to be endorsed by the Association of PE with an accreditation for supporting teachers.
