Chrissy Le Roux, a 19-year old from Stevenage who works as one of Stephen McPartland MP's constituency staff is raising money for those diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) and the MND Association through a sponsored silence. She joined Stephen McPartland MP in Westminster at an event held by the MND Association to raise awareness of the disease and the issues facing sufferers and their families.
Stephen McPartland, Member of Parliament for Stevenage, said, "Chrissy has worked for me about eighteen months and she is one of the most courageous people I know. She lost her Mum to Cancer in late 2013 and her father was diagnosed with MND earlier that year.
"As part of MND awareness month and Chrissy is helping to raise funds for the MND Association through a sponsored silence, which I have happily contributed too. Please consider supporting her and help the MND Association enable MND sufferers to maximise their quality of life and die with dignity."

MND is a rapidly progressive disease that affects the brain and spinal cord and attacks the nerves that control movement so muscles refuse to work. MND affects up to 5,000 adults in the UK at any one time and has no cure with around 30% of people dying within 12 months of diagnosis, and more than 50% within two years
The MND Association was founded in 1979 by a group of volunteers with experience of living with or caring for someone with MND and is the only national charity in England, Wales and Northern Ireland focused on MND care, research and campaigning. Its vision is of ‘A world free from MND’ and, until that time, to enable people with MND to maximise their quality of life and die with dignity.
